Thoughts on Britney Spears

Britney, Britney, Britney...are you TRYING to make sure the judge gives the boys to your trailer trash glorified sperm donor of an ex-husband? I mean really, honestly, are you actually trying? Because you know what, your Sinead Breakdown this weekend, plus the two failed one-day stays at rehab (really, Robert Downey Jr. was able to stay longer than that) are making you look like an drug addicted trailer-trash whore...oh wait, riiiiiiiight...

In other news, Paris Hilton was apparently told by a manager of a hotel in Europe that she couldn't stay at said hotel because they do not allow prostitutes. HAHAHA, someone in Europe thought Paris was a whore...oh wait, riiiiiiiight...

AND Hilary Clinton has asked that Barak Obama return $1.2 million to a donor because said donor bad-mouthed Clinton. So, Hilary's actively trying to make sure that Obama gets less money for which to run for the Democratic Primary. However, according to Obama's people, if she wants him to give up the money because the donor trashed Clinton, then she should give up the $1 million she got at a recent fund-raiser because one of the senators sponsoring it said that he would rather Hilary won because she would do better than some black guy...so then Hilary, what you're saying is that you hold other people to higher standards than you hold to yourself...it's almost like you're a politician or something...oh wait, riiiiiiight.

Drivin' Drivin' Drivin'

So, I meant to blog on Thursday, but I forgot. Anyhow, this is the story I was going to tell:

Thursday morning, Todd and I go out to do Creek Crossings--which pretty much means that we drive around town looking at all the bridges, and if we see something that is caught under the bridge, or could otherwise cause/increase flooding, then we call it in to our field crews and have them come out and rectify the problem. We decided to do the crossings on the far north side of town because they're the furthest away from the office and will probably take the longest to do. At noon, we decide we should head back to work since Todd never eats out for lunch, and we're both starving. As we're driving back down to the office, we go by the new Asian Market and since Todd has a thing for Dichan Radish Kimchee, decide that we should stop in real quick to get the Kimchee. Less than 5 minutes later we're on our way.

We get back to the office at 1236, I call one of our coworkers who notoriously eats lunch late, to see if he's planning on going out. I get in Matt's car, and then, the suggestion is made that perhaps we (John had decided to join us) should go eat at First Chinese Restaurant (Which has the best Chinese barbecued pork and duck). Guess where First Chinese Restaurant is. Bet you'll never get it...

It's up by the Asian Market.

so I get back to work at like 2 pm...6 hours straight away from my triangicule (I've decided that since my cubicule is not, in fact, a cube, but much more of a triangle shape, that I shall refer to it as my triangicule)...and let me tell you, it was glorious.

no tv and no beer make homer something something

So, as Mephisto pointed out, I watch too much TV...but for the record, the only part of the grammy's that I watched was from the Red Hot Chili Peppers' performance (God, Anthony Kiedis looks like he's gaining some weight...which I mean, it's about damn time, the man is almost 45) to the end (what was that Dixie Chic wearing? Never mind, they show her husband more frequently than they show her...ah, Adrian Pasdar....).

Other things I've done this week: Started and finished a book, and continued to work on Miss Sarah's baby project. The goal for the rest of the week: Clean the damn house--there be people comin' over next weekend.

Also, the stuff for Shawn's new computer arrived, so he's been working on that all night...we took a quick break to go get food and a new dry-erase board with magnets (yay for magnets!)

At work, we've started up our annual field work extravaganza again. WEEEE!!!!! I like field work. On tuesday we got to drive around in the hoitie toitie neighborhood. and on thursday i got to freeze because it was so freaking cold (but no where near as cold as New York)...at least it wasn't raining.

the best thing about the grammy's: Adrian Pasdar.

Blogging

God, it seems like such a long time since I blogged, and yet, it's only been like a week or so. meh.

So, on Spreng Bling Bling, Amy mentioned something a while back "thou shalt not blog about work" and it's so funny because it's true...I may blog about something that happened at work, but even if it's something that pissed me off, it's all self-censored. You know, just in case one of the people at work decided to read my blog (aside: Ross reads my blog, he's a coworker, BUT he's also my friend. Besides, I'm not so worried about him getting me fired...or firing me for that matter).

So then, a blog about home....let's see...Ah, the Superbowl! we went to Lon and Daniella's for said Game. I got pissed, unnecessarily I might add, that the Bears lost. AND the commercials weren't all that great. But I did like the commercial where there was a hitchhiker with an ax and a case of Bud Light. Yeah, that one was awesome...and I don't really remember any other ones...oh wait, the robot that works for Ford. Yes, I liked that one, I got all sad for the Robot...but really, how were all the Ford recent Lay-off-ees supposed to feel about that commercial?

OH and this morning, little butt (aka Quazi) had a hair stuck in his, well, little butt. So I got to get up at 6 in the morning and go clean up after him. Yeah, that was fun...almost as much fun as you reading it just now I bet. :)

So, let's see...I will end on something other than poop this week...Oh OH OH, I know!!!! tonight is the premier of Survivor: Fiji....AND The Amazing Race All Stars starts the sunday following valentine's day, WHICH is also a 3 day weekend for me. WEEEEE!!!!!!!

French Onion Soup Night

So yes, the other day (I don't remember which day it was Tuesday...Thursday?) I went with Bond and Ross to the Restaurant store and bought some French Onion Soup Bowls. The store was pretty nifty, and we had too much fun there...the store has everything--industrial mixers, bathroom signs, hot dog cookers, cafeteria ware, etc. In anycase, now I have bowls, that means now I can have French Onion Soup...thus I have set French Onion Soup night to be on Saturday the 24th. Yay for French Onion Soup! by the way, I shall be using the recipe from the Colorado Cache cookbook which can be bought from the Denver Junior League.

Baby Baby....oh Baby Baby

So, I just got back from Mrs. Poochie's baby shower. It was fun, and we played completely different games than during Daniella's baby shower. This time, we did "baby price is right", "what's the flavor?" and "guess how fat the pregnant lady is." Just so you know, apparently all of us think Mrs. Poochie is fatter than she really is. AND the only one that was close was Miss Sarah...but she cheated--she's pregnant too and so she just measured around herself. YOU CHEATER!!!! just kidding. I like Miss Sarah. She's sweet.
