SO ANGRY

Alright, so, we'll start at the begining
1. I had to go to the doctor a few weeks ago. The test results came back. Abnormal Squamous Cells, High Cholesterol, High Triglycerides, High Bloodpressure, Low Potassium. Yep, I'm 24 and I'm gonna die.
2. While eating my sub sandwich last night I was apparently chewing funny and managed to chip my tooth on another tooth. It's not bad, but still...now I HAVE to go to the dentist.
3. Figured out that our cat, who has been itching like mad for the last two months and has licked herself bald on her stomach, butt, and legs has fleas. Which means the other cat has fleas. which means that we're going to be de-flea-ing our house for the next 2 weeks or so.
4. Went to the doctor this morning to be told that I'm gonna die. Although, she was at least nice about it and decided to wait to draw more blood. But what irked me was how many people I had to go through to get out of the building--they make you pay when you first get there, but the doctor had given me a yellow slip that I was supposed to give to the front desk so that they could make my appointment for followup tests in 3 months. The lady at the check in counter made me go to the referal desk, and they made me go to the checkout desk, all this to be told by the lady at the checkout desk that they do not make appointments 3 months in advance because they don't know when doctors will be on vacation. Couldn't they have told me that at the Front desk?!?!? And what's more, I made the appointment at 7:40 in the morning so that I wouldn't be late to work, and what do you know, they kept me there for almost an hour, so I was still late to work.
5. While at work, I called the vet to ask about flea meds for the cats (since it's pretty obvious that the bald one has FAD, which pretty much means she's allergic to fleas, which means that she's probably allergic to other things we don't know about). The vet pretty much says that they've got some stuff at the vet office and all I have to do is come get it this evening. So, I leave work early (mind you, I got there late, and worked through my lunch to make up for it), fight my way through traffic, and arrive at the vet office at 5:55, knowing that they close at 6. I see that there are still people inside, standing around chatting, and I did tell the lady that I'd be there around 6, if not at exactly 6, so I figure that this will be easy. Nope, WRONG! they're closed for the night and I have to come back tomorrow morning at 7:30 to pick up my damn flea medication that's sitting there on the freaking COUNTER! Now I'm fulling expecting the vet tech lady to call me tonight and ask why I didn't come pick up the flea meds.

GRRRRRRRRR.

I'm now going to go make cookie dough...at least Marilyn Vos Savant says that raw cookie dough has slightly less calories than the baked cookies.

An Insta-blog

Hello loyal readers (not really, how can you be loyal if I've only had one post?)

Alison (Mrs. Poochie) has tagged me to do a blog questionaire thing, and so, as promised, I am here to deliver. It's Thursday night, do you know where your husband is? Yes, he's at the skate park, and so, I can't watch the normal shows because knowing the whole Survivor episode doesn't make for interesting viewing the second time.

5 Things

10 years ago- I was 14, which means that I was in eigth grade...man, eigth grade. Anyhow, I may or may not have had a boyfriend at that time, if I did, it was Troy. He was a Star Wars nut. He has since gone on into the movie industry...kinda in the same way that Sarah and Alison have gone into the radio industry. I also would have been reading "The Little Prince" for my English class.

8 years ago – Still living in Parker, Colorado, and attending Ponderosa High School. It would have been sophomore year, and on this date, would have been after we won the state marching band trophy (by the way, our drumline kicked ass and were robbed of the "best drumline award" by a stupid judge). I wouldn't have had a boyfriend, but I would have been obsessed with Shawn (one of the drummers, and now my husband). I was in geometry...and biology...and government with Holly from Hell (a teacher in training who said Warshington)

6 years ago - Living in Parker, (still) and finishing high school, for the most part. we would have just finished the last of the marching band seasons that I would ever compete in. Jesse (one of my best friends in high school), would have just started dating Jackie...the girlfriend from hell...but I jest. I also would have been hanging out with Matt, and Ben, and Britton a lot...hmm, Yes, I didn't have any girl friends my senior year.

2 years ago – College, finally college. I would be living with Shawn, Bob, and Tara in Boulder (no, I did not know Alison when we were in college together...but our husbands did know eachother...sorta--Colin was Shawn's TA for Thermodynamics). Not a whole lot would be happening...Shawn was already starting to look for jobs though.

Now – Married, home owner, Texan (??!!?) Working in Watershed Engineering. Yeah, I've grown up.

(As Janet said…..in the past ten years I have lived in Parker, Boulder and Austin...yeah, I know, not very exciting)

Five yummy things:
1) Spaghetti--I like spaghetti.
2) Texas BBQ – it's yummy
3) Chips and Salsa – a new one since I've been going with Shawn...because he hates Mexican food
4) Cheese fondue...I like cheese...lots and lots of cheese.
5) Crab cheese wontons--only thing I like that has seafood...and I get cravings for them.

Five songs I know by heart:
1) Phantom of the Opera songs
2) Well Alright - Buddy Holly
3) So sorry - the Gamits
4) Bullying the Jukebox - Bouncing Souls
5) Salt for your Wounds - AFI

Five things I would do with a lot of money:
1) Buy a house in Colorado!
2) Put some work into the house we currently own
3) go to Europe...a lot!
4) put it into retirement...working for the next 30+ years is not going to be fun.
5) buy new furniture

Five places I would to escape to:
1) Germany
2) Alaska
3) Vegas
4) Ireland
5) California

Five things I would never wear:
1) I'm with Alison on the shoes with buckles...my mom loved them...I didn't.
2) Pants that come above the belly button...another thing my mom loved
3) scrunchies
4) men's briefs
5) going commando

Five favorite TV shows:
1)CSI
2)The Amazing Race
3) House
4) Criminal Minds
5)Survivor

Five things I enjoy doing:
1) talking/hanging with friends
2) Reading books I like
3) going out to eat
4) Seeing movies/watching TV
5) Being around animals

Five Favorite toys:
1) Internet
2) Shawn's laptop
3) Wireless Internet
4) Digital Camera
5) Myth TV (linux TiVO)

Five people who I am tagging to fill this out:
1) Colin
2) Sarah M
3) I don't know who would read my post
4) hmmm, GOD
5) and.....Satan. :)

Remember kids, don't drown, turn around.

So...I really don't plan to blog much...just had to join in order to post on Alison's blog (Mrs. Poochie to you). But I figured that I would at least write one...just so I can say that I did it.

So, as one of Alison's posts was about what she regretted about her wedding, I suppose I can do one as well.

We finally sat down and went through our 1000+ wedding photos from the photographers. They're pretty darn good. I wish I had been paying more attention so that I could get more of the photos that I wanted, but not too big of a deal.

Some of the things that I was really glad about: Choosing a Bahai'i reading for the ceremony, my shoes (they were comfy and they looked good), my dress (but not the slip, it kept well, slipping), my grandma dancing the night away, dancing with everyone AND I'm damn glad I took my own photos--they're pretty cool really. I'm also really glad that I had Jesse drive me to the wedding place and having Matt drive us to the hotel afterwards. And I'm actually glad we didn't do a "grand leaving" mostly because it seemed to be good closure for me to help clean up.

Some of the things that could have gone better: Shawn and I chose our song for the first dance from a movie, it was about 4.5 minutes long...that's long to just be dancing in small circles alternately changing directions to avoid getting too dizzy...I should have eaten more food, it was good, I just wasn't into it. AND Shawn and I should have had some of our own wedding cake.

In the words of a very smart person:
Ta-ta for now.
