We (coworkers) went and ate at a restaurant for lunch today. A restaurant in which two of us paid cash. Needless to say we were both surprised when the waiter came back and had shorted us both $5. It was mentioned to him and he ran off to get our money and when he came back he said "I had left it on the counter." Really? The counter? In a restaurant? where anyone would have grabbed the money? I don't know if I buy it.

Then Ross made a comment jokingly like "Better luck next time, man." and the guy didn't even crack a smile. At all. Which makes me even more leery that he was actually hoping to short us money without us knowing because if it was an honest mistake wouldn't you at least be like "ha ha, yeah." or something? I know I would because I'd be so embarrassed that I'd shorted someone unintentionally.

To top it off, as we were leaving the restaurant, we passed said waiter and he didn't say anything to any of us. Usually when I leave a restaurant and I pass the waiter we had, said waiter will make some "come back soon," or "have a nice day" type comment. this guy said nothing. Not a peep. And actually seemed to be glaring as we left.

Sorry dude, better luck next time.

I thought I would update everyone on my ear issues (because I'm sure everyone is on the edge of their seats, on bated breath going "I wonder what is happening with her ear. Is she deaf yet? When will she stop writing all this drivel? etc."

Anyhow, the day I blogged about it was the last day my ear hurt. I woke up the next morning feeling fine.

I knew kicking that coke habit was the key to success.

So I realized that I posted all these entries about cable but haven't posted any updates. Mostly that update would be that we no longer have cable. You see AT&T was doing this deal where if you signed up two services (internet and phone, phone and cable, internet and cable) the installation charge ($150) is waived. So, for $40 extra for one month we were able to save $110 by getting cable and internet when we only really wanted the internet.

So far, the only thing I miss is all the home improvement shows we watched on the weekends. Because that's the only time cable came in handy.

For about 2 weeks now I've had this aching feeling in my jaw/ear area on the right side of my head. It started out as a jaw thing (hurt to open), and then after the dentist appointment, it felt like a tooth thing (damn dentist). But now it is firmly an ear thing (feels like there's pressure building up in my ear...and it still hurts to open my mouth...and it really hurts if I try to jut out my jaw---like that one character in Family Guy). Basically I think I have an ear infection (other than pain I haven't had any of the symptoms that indicate the need to go to the doctor, though I may have to just because it's annoying). Anyhow, just to make sure that it is indeed an ear infection, I used the WEBMD symptom checker.

When I enter the problems associated with my jaw possible options that come back are TMJ, Tetanus and Cocaine Addiction. That's right. COCAINE ADDICTION. Another symptom of a cocaine addiction includes a craving for alcohol. You heard me.

So, I'm now working on the theory that if, by the next time we have a happy hour, I still have a achy ear/jaw then it must be my cocaine addiction that's causing it and therefore no need to be alarmed.

Sam I Am

"Did you think that the name for my bracket was unique, did you know it was mine?"

"What now?"

"Green Eggs and Ham. The name of my bracket. I was trying to be unique and reference Mother Goose."

"You mean Doctor Seuss. You were kinda close. At least they rhyme."

I guess this would go under "he'll still say dumb shit."

Though to be fair, I also did a major dumb shit thing, too. One group was talking about something that happened a while ago and David was like 'Oh, Colleen, you don't know that story!" except that she did, but Pam, joking around said "oh, I don't know what he's talking about. I don't know this story." Except I thought she was being serious so I started in on this whole long winded story, a story everyone at the table already knew. and I got most of the way through it before I realized that everyone was looking at me like I was insane. least I bring the entertainment to the table.

I went to the dentist last week and everything looked great to them. Of course, I mentioned that the right side of my jaw has been hurting. It hurts to open my mouth more than half way...but it was also something that had only started a day or so before so I wasn't too worried about it. Because I get my xrays in September, they didn't do xrays this time around. Of course, since Tuesday my jaw has done nothing but feel the same or worse. If this doesn't get better soon I'm probably going to have to go back to the dentist and ask for an xray. Or something.

Right now Shawn and I have an approximate total of 1,345, 632 bottles of shampoo and conditioner in the shower. I don't know why this is...well, yes, I do. The daily clarifying shampoo which has no perfumes or colors makes our scalps itch. I don't know why this is. But it did make me pull out all of our shampoos and conditioners so we could test to see if any others made our scalps itch. So far that daily clarifying is the only one to do so.

Anyhow. I get to make delicious smelling mixes to entertain myself while in the shower...because what fun is a shower if all you do is get clean?

So far the different mixes I have made:

Fructis Shampoo + Goji Berry Conditioner + Cucumber Melon body wash = I smell like a fruit salad.

Fructis Shampoo + Lady Killer Cinnamon Conditioner + Peach body wash = I smell like peach cobbler.

Chamomile Shampoo + Lavender Conditioner + Peppermint soap = I smell like a field of wildflowers.

Shawn and I went to "Cowboy Breakfast" last Friday. Cowboy Breakfast is put on by Rodeo Austin and it's basically a large breakfast extravaganza. you walk from booth to booth and pick up free breakfast foods (pancakes, breakfast tacos, sausage wraps, muffins, etc.).

At one point, I thought I had seen one of my coworkers roommates. A gent that I had just met a few weeks earlier. This man looks like he could be Shawn's brother. As Shawn and I were leaving, I said, "You know, I think I saw Jameson's roommate....Dave?" and Shawn replied, "Ah, yes. I prefer to think of him as Little Shawn." that I wrote that, that sounds really bad...
