Bah, Humbug!

So some people get all pissed off in the winter when it just seems like it will never end. But here in Austin, we're all getting pissed off because it just won't cool down. EVER. 51 days of 100+ in Downtown Austin this summer. 51, people!

We're at 60, suck it. And I'm almost grateful, since it means I'm not the only one who currently thinks Texas is straight from hell.

We haven't hit 100, this summer. 98, yesterday, but it was so dry, it didn't feel like it.

Mooove baaack...mooove baaack..

I guess it really depends which source I look at--News 8 has that we're at 51 days of triple digit temps, while KXAN says 60 (as of Aug 20). I guess it will come down to me going to the NWS page and counting by hand the number of days we've been at or over 100...I think some of the problem may be where they're counting--the official point used to be Camp Mabry, but the new official point is Austin Bergstrom Airport...but some stations still use Mabry for the official tally because you can't just go picking and choosing which numbers to use just because they show a higher value...sigh.
